Description
A quick and hearty one-pan meal made with ground meat, tender potatoes, and a rich, cheesy cream sauce. Perfect for busy weeknights or when you need comfort food fast.
Ingredients
1 lb ground meat (beef or turkey)
2 medium potatoes, diced into small cubes
1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
1 onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or mozzarella)
1 tsp paprika
1 tsp dried thyme
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp olive oil or butter
Optional: fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions
-
Dice potatoes, chop onion, and mince garlic.
-
In a large skillet, heat olive oil or butter over medium heat. Add ground meat and cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, paprika, and thyme.
-
Stir in diced potatoes and chopped onion. Cook for 8–10 minutes until potatoes start to soften.
-
Pour in cream or half-and-half. Simmer for 5–7 minutes until sauce thickens and potatoes are tender.
-
Sprinkle cheese on top and let melt.
-
Garnish with parsley and serve hot.
Notes
- For crispier potatoes, brown them well before adding cream.
- Use any cheese you like—cheddar adds sharpness, mozzarella gives a gooey texture.
- Add more cream if sauce thickens too much on standing.
