Ingredients
Sandwiches:
- 8 slices brioche or challah bread
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp powdered sugar (plus more for dusting)
- ½ cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- ¼ cup strawberry jam
For dipping/frying:
- 2 large eggs
- 3 tbsp milk
- 2 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Spread mixture on 4 slices of bread. Add strawberries and jam. Top with remaining slices.
- In a shallow dish, whisk eggs and milk. Heat skillet over medium and add butter.
- Dip each sandwich in egg mixture. Fry 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown.
- Let drain on paper towels. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.
Notes
- Swap jam or berries for seasonal fruits
- Use mascarpone or ricotta for a lighter filling
- Best served fresh, but leftovers can be reheated in a skillet
