Ingredients
Dark Chocolate:
- 1/4 cup dark chocolate (approx. 2 oz.), chopped
Almond Milk:
- 1 cup almond milk (or milk of choice)
Cocoa Powder:
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder
Cane Sugar:
- 1 tbsp cane sugar
Vanilla Extract:
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
Orange Juice:
- 2 tbsp freshly squeezed orange juice
Orange Peel Rinds:
- 2–3 orange peel rinds
Instructions
- Melt Chocolate: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, combine the chopped dark chocolate and almond milk. Stir frequently until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
- Add Ingredients: Lower the heat and add cocoa powder, cane sugar, vanilla extract, orange juice, and orange peel rinds.
- Simmer: Let the mixture simmer gently for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Strain and Serve: Remove from heat and strain out orange peels if desired. Pour into a mug and top with whipped cream or chocolate shavings. Serve warm.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of orange juice to taste.
- Make it dairy-free by using plant-based milk and chocolate.
- Store leftovers in the fridge and reheat gently before serving.
